Cooking a Feast

Gratitue unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow. ~ Melody Beattie

When the British Hubby and I came down with colds six weeks ago, we struggled to keep working out and hiking. The spring and summer hiking season will be upon us soon. We plan to get back to our 52 hike challenge even if we’re a little behind. In order to have time for hiking and working out, I’ve decided to cook for the entire week on Sundays. We should probably have less fresh bread and more salads, but giving up fresh bread is so difficult! This week I made my favorite glazed cranberry ham and roasted sweet potatoes. Maybe I’ll just try to run an extra mile?

Here’s a progress shot of a Malabrigo March 2017 wip, my sunset cable scarf. I’m on repeat number three using Malabrigo (of course). Dos Tierras is the newest base in Malabrigo. It holds the stitch definition nicely and really seems to glow. It’s lovely to knit with. It’s tightly plied so I don’t split the yarn on the cables. I see many more projects featuring this yarn in my future. I think it will be perfect for the sweaters The British Hubby keeps hinting he would like (perhaps not in Sunset).

Ernie and I got in some snuggle time while watching our new favorite British detective show, Father Brown.

  1. Tasty looking ham! Lovely looking scarf (I need to see this Dos Tierras in person!) and Ernie is so handsome, look at that shiny coat!
I hope you and BH are feeling better!
